PYC has a Float!

You are all invited this coming Saturday, May 21st!  PYC will be participating in the 54th Viking Fest Parade.
The Viking Fest celebrates the Norwegian Constitution Day of May 17. 1814. Our theme is “Sharing Seafaring Traditions” – to honor our Clubs’ community traditions of the Lighted Ships Parade started 53 years ago and Junior Sailing begun 23 years ago.  Join the fun of PYC’s multi-vehicle “entry” by walking the 8/10 of a mile (one-way) to HAND OUT candy to kids in the crowd & wave our PYC burgees.

Be here at the club no later than 1:30 p.m. next Saturday!  We depart from PYC parking lot at 1:45 p.m.
Attire:  PYC bling, Viking duds, Jr. Sailing Shirts or Lighted Ships Parade Shirts.  Bring your PYC Burgees and proudly wave them along the route.

Below is what the announcer will say about our parade etnry.

SHARING SEAFARING TRADITIONS!

When at sea, Poulsbo Yacht Club members “call-sign” is “Viking Ships.”  Members have promoted safe boating and having fun doing so for the past 66 years!
Poulsbo Yacht Club’s traditions include the joyful Lighted Ships Parade each December for the past 53 years and 23 years teaching the art of sailing and knot tying to the next generation.  This summer PYC presents its highly acclaimed public Summer Sail Camps with a brand-new fleet of “Viking Ships” one of which is on display today.

Past Commodore Myers at the helm & Commodore Earl & Lena Hunt proudly display the Norwegian Flag & fly the Poulsbo Yacht Club’s burgee (pennant).
The Larson Family’s Classic, fully restored 1935 Ford Pick-up transports one of the brand-new Learn to Sail boats, with PYC members young & young-at-heart joining the fun.
Poulsbo Yacht Club is a social club, you don’t have to be a boater to join!
