The November 2026 WIC Luncheon will be held at the Day Island Yacht Club. Join us for their "America's Great Loop: 6,000 Miles and Countless Stories" presented by Boris and PC Mayli Hodak.
Menu: Autumn Waldorf Chicken Salad (roasted chicken breast, grapes, apples, pomegranate, pumpkin seeds, celery, and baby romaine with honey poppy seed dressing), Artisan Breads with Herb and Blue Cheese Butters, and warm Pumpkin Bread Pudding with Bourbon Fig Sauce and Toasted Pecans.

PYC is marching in Poulsbo's 4th Annual Veterans Day Parade. We will depart the clubhouse at 10:15 to rally at Gateway Church on Hostmark where the parade will start. If you want to meet us there, please note that there is no parking at Gateway for individual participants. The Buz Whiteley Big Band played for this fundraiser last year at Western Red Brewery.  Saturday OCT 31st Sailboat Pumpkin Hunt!A fabulous, bewitching pumpkin hunt for those sailors courageous enough to put up the canvas and venture out on the treacherous seas of Liberty Bay in search of wild pumpkins. Leave the dock at 11am. No power after leaving the marina (only wind). Capture as many of the wild floating pumpkins as possible using net or harpoon. Must be back on the dock by 1pm. Boat with the most booty (pumpkins) wins. Prizes will be awarded immediately following. Open to members + guests. A special Boat Program is being sponsored by Chase Morgan and John Bukowsky on Wednesday October 21 from 6 to 8 PM. Bar opens at 6 and the program will be from 7 to 8. Topic: The Blue Schools Initiative Speaker: Katie Oman, Chief Operating Officer and lifelong sailor Summary: The Blue Schools Initiative connects students and their communities with the maritime world, building a sense of belonging and inspiring care for our waters as well as opening doors to maritime careers. Built on decades of effective public-private partnerships with schools and post-secondary institutions, the Blue Schools Initiative now encompasses education, community, and industry working together to solve problems together. Katie will share the design of the Blue Schools Initiative, how & where it is launched, and program progress to date. There is a nationwide appetite for this blueprint and opportunities for us to be involved. Katie Oman bio: Katie Oman is the Chief Operating Officer of Northwest Maritime, a nonprofit dedicated to engaging and educating people of all generations in traditional and contemporary maritime life through a spirit of adventure and discovery. She oversees the organization’s operations and works across its education, workforce development, community, and maritime programs. Before joining Northwest Maritime, she spent two decades as a consultant to nonprofit cultural organizations, helping mission-driven institutions with business planning, capital projects, and organizational strategy. She holds a degree in Architecture from Princeton University and a master’s in Public History and Cultural Heritage at Trinity College Dublin. A lifelong sailor, Katie grew up sailing on the East Coast and has raced to Bermuda, crossed the Atlantic, and worked aboard traditional schooners. She is passionate about the power of hands-on experiences, maritime traditions, and time on the water to build confidence, community, and connection to place.
